What To Ask The Musical Talent

Once you have figured out the type of musical genre you prefer, you have to select a musician, band or DJ for your ceremony and/or reception. Before meeting with anyone, you should first jot down a list of questions you want to ask. Here are a few questions to get you started:

Hours. How many hours are they available to work?
Do they charge by the hour or per event?

Breaks. How many breaks do they usually take? And for how long? You’ll have to work this out together.

Fees. Do they charge a set-up fee? If the wedding is out of town, is there a mileage fee?

Dress. What is their normal attire for weddings? Will they wear a suit and tie and/or dresses?

Time. How long into the reception do they normally start the first dance? Will they play through the entire reception?

Emcee. Will they serve as emcee at the reception?
